The Brit extends his contract with Italian marque

Leon Camier confirmed he will be continuing on with MV Agusta in WorldSBK for the 2017 season on Sunday the 16th of October at Jerez. He spoke exclusively with WorldSBK.com about the deal, which will see him race for the Schiranna Team (MV Agusta).

“You know I put a lot of work in the last couple of years and I’ve seen the team has grown and improved and everyone’s really passionate about growing and moving forward,” explained Camier. “I think it's really obvious from the outside that we’ve made some big steps so for me it's something that I want to see through and try and take it to the next step again I believe in the bike 100% and I believe the bike has the potential to be on the podium in situations so I want to see it through and I have a good feeling with the team and bike and so for me I’m really happy to stay here and become better.”

MV Agusta Team Principal Andrea Quadranti commented, “We are very pleased to have reached an agreement with Leon to give continuity to our collaboration. We are certainly pleased to have him in the team MV Agusta Racing Department also for next year, given the excellent results achieved together and the great professionalism.”

“We know what we need to improve on the bike I think the winter will be a real positive for all the technicians they will have time in the factory to work on everything and come with a better package for next year,” added Camier. “We had a few changes in the team this year so that I think with some more time we can continue to progress. We all know the areas where we need to improve I know, the technicians know, so I think it’s a real good fit as soon as we start at the beginning of the year I can tell how it's gone over the winter basically we can have some direct information on what they’ve done and if there’s an improvement so I’m looking forward to starting next year and hopefully they have a good winter and can make some progress.”

Camier will be out on track at Jerez on Monday for official testing ahead of the Gaerne Qatar Round at the end of October.
